'Bohemian Rhapsody' Trailer: Queen Gets Experimental And Creates Legendary Music In The Process

Queen is one of the most celebrated rock bands of all time. Their music is iconic and songs like “Somebody To Love,” “We Will Rock You,” and “Bohemian Rhapsody” have stood the test of time. It is that latter song that is earning the band, and notable frontman Freddie Mercury, a movie treatment fit for a rock star.

20th Century Fox is looking to deliver a great rock biopic at the start of awards season fervor with “Bohemian Rhapsody.” “Mr. Robot” star Rami Malek leads the picture as Mercury, the creative showman with an unforgettable voice and range. The film has been plagued with behind-the-scenes mishaps concerning director Bryan Singer. But actor-turned-director Dexter Fletcher stepped in to finish out the film (with Singer still receiving his directing credit).

The first teaser previewed snapshots of the band in the recording studio and on stage. The iconic looks of a rock star, Mercury, were on full display and the showmanship of the frontman was captured even for a split second by Malek’s characterization. With the new trailer, we delve into the band even more. Queen‘s inception, rise, and internal conflict will be an event, we hope, that lives up to the band’s greatness and the surreal talent and complexity of Mercury.

“Bohemian Rhapsody” will rock and roll into theaters November 2.

Here’s the official synopsis and trailer:

Bohemian Rhapsody is a foot-stomping celebration of Queen, their music and their extraordinary lead singer Freddie Mercury. Freddie defied stereotypes and shattered convention to become one of the most beloved entertainers on the planet. The film traces the meteoric rise of the band through their iconic songs and revolutionary sound. They reach unparalleled success, but in an unexpected turn Freddie, surrounded by darker influences, shuns Queen in pursuit of his solo career. Having suffered greatly without the collaboration of Queen, Freddie manages to reunite with his bandmates just in time for Live Aid. While bravely facing a recent AIDS diagnosis, Freddie leads the band in one of the greatest performances in the history of rock music. Queen cements a legacy that continues to inspire outsiders, dreamers and music lovers to this day.
