Ever since the end of “Avengers: Infinity War,” which featured the villain Thanos infamously snapping his fingers, fans have been clamoring for any bit of information that would say whether or not their favorite characters survived the Mad Titan’s culling. Well, perhaps the most important character in all of the Marvel Cinematic Universe has released a video showing that he has indeed survived Thanos’ evil plan.
In a new Twitter message, wishing the Thunder God Thor a happy birthday, Darryl has come forward to let everyone know that he’s survived the snap. However, since so many of his co-workers didn’t survive the universe losing half of all life, Darryl sadly has to work weekends. But hey, that hasn’t killed the hope and optimism of Thor’s roommate. No, he still has the time to perform a special rendition of “Happy Birthday.”
Oddly enough, while we’ve heard from actors talking about whether or not they believe their characters have survived the end of ‘Infinity War,’ this new video from Darryl is the first time that we’ve had any sort of footage from a post-‘Infinity War’ MCU. The post-credits scenes from both ‘Infinity War’ and “Ant-Man and the Wasp” featured scenes from the actual snapping event, but this clearly takes place in a post-snap universe.
All kidding aside, Thor actor Chris Hemsworth celebrated his birthday this weekend, and it was awesome to see the return of Darryl, after the successful little shorts featuring his every-guy character dealing with outstanding and fantastical characters. If you’re unfamiliar with Darryl, you should probably check out the ‘Civil War’-inspired shorts that started it all featuring Thor and his roommate trying to contact the Avengers. There’s also a more recent short that starred Darryl and his new potential roomie, Jeff Goldblum’s The Grandmaster.
So, we still have to wait a little less than a year for the results of Thanos’ evil plan to really be revealed to viewers. But, thanks to Darryl’s considerate update, fans can rest easy knowing that one of the most well-liked members of the MCU is doing just fine. Albeit, he’s a little short of rent, so any help would be appreciated.
