Listen To Thom Yorke's Entire 'Suspiria' Soundtrack & See If He Succeeded In "Making Spells"

If you’re one of those lucky folks who got to see the film at the various festivals or happen to live in the markets that get it this weekend, Thom Yorke’s score for “Suspiria” is probably old news to you. For the rest of us, we either have to wait until the film expands to more markets or head on over to Spotify to listen to Yorke’s first full film score and just imagine what the film might be in our heads.

That’s right, after weeks of teasing and more teasing, the “Suspiria” soundtrack is finally available to stream on your respective devices. Up until today, we’ve heard bits and pieces of the soundtrack, which marks the first film work that Radiohead frontman Yorke has completed. The songs range from more traditional sounding works to some seriously experimental instrumentals. It’s unique and haunting, which is perfect for a film about witches and dancing.

Yorke has gone on record about his inspiration for the “Suspiria” soundtrack and how the musician was interested in “making spells.” “There’s a way of repeating in music that can hypnotize. I kept thinking to myself that it’s a form of making spells. So when I was working in my studio I was making spells. I know it sounds really stupid, but that’s how I was thinking about it,” he said (via THR). “It was a sort of freedom I’ve not had before. I’ve not worked in the format of song arrangement. I’m just exploring.”

Now that the entirety of Yorke’s “spells” are available to listen at your convenience, and on repeat if you so desire, we can decide if the musician succeeded in conjuring up something magical.
