'Death And Nightingales' Trailer: New BBC Series Stars Jamie Dornan & Comes From The Writer Of 'The Fall'

Jamie Dornan is doing his best to wash away the odor of the ‘Fifty Shades’ franchise by taking a very eclectic mix of roles. While “Robin Hood” looks largely like a forgettable action film, Dornan has appeared in the recent HBO film (which we loved) “My Dinner with Hervé,” as well as the awards contender film “A Private War.” And coming up he’s set to star in the upcoming film from filmmaker Drake Doremus. But before we see that, Dornan is the star of the upcoming BBC miniseries, “Death and Nightingales.”

In the first trailer for “Death and Nightingales,” we get the basic gist of the story, which is being described as an epic tale of “love, betrayal, deception and revenge set over 24 hours.” And as the trailer suggests, there’s a lot going on in the 24-hour period that the story takes place over. Seriously, normally when we get a minute-long trailer, we’d call it a simple teaser. But this is no teaser. The minute is packed to the gills with capital ‘A’ acting.

“Death and Nightingales” comes from Alan Cubitt, the writer of “The Fall,” another project starring Dornan. That series, which also stars Gillian Anderson, has run a total of three seasons, and featured the ‘Fifty Shades’ actor well before he became the mysterious billionaire with a taste for leather and paddles.

We’re still unsure of when “Death and Nightingales” will begin its run on BBC Two, or even if it’ll be released anywhere outside of the UK. However, considering “The Fall” was picked up by Netflix, we can assume that this new series will find its way to a global audience soon enough.
