You think your family is weird, right? We all do. But according to the teaser for the new animated “The Addams Family” film, the weirdest of them all are Morticia, Gomez, Wednesday, Pugsley, Uncle Fester, and Grandmama.
After a successful run on TV decades ago, followed by a successful run in the film world during the ‘90s, the Addams Family is back for another round. This time, instead of live-action, the dark, disturbing family are tackling animation, with a pretty stellar cast lending their voices.

For those not familiar with the concept of “The Addams Family,” it’s fairly simple. The titular family is a loving, close-knit group of folks that don’t fit in with the rest of society. Whereas typical families hug and kiss each other before going to bed, as seen in the trailer for this film, Morticia tells her children to make sure to kick their father before going to sleep. They’re twisted, kooky, and strange. The Addams Family revels in all things death and macabre. But somehow, they’re still delightful and funny. They’re unlike any other family in the history of film and TV, and that’s probably why fans have stuck with them for generations.
The film stars the vocal talents of Oscar Isaac, Charlize Theron, Chloë Grace Moretz, Finn Wolfhard, Nick Kroll, Bette Midler, and Allison Janney.
“The Addams Family” arrives in theaters just in time for Halloween on October 11.
