'Top Boy' Trailer: The Popular British Crime Series Is Revived On Netflix & Hasn't Missed A Beat

Top Boy” is one of those crime series that was huge for people who actually watched it. If you know, then you know. And by those who knowit, I mean the folks in the UK that enjoy gritty crime dramas. But for those of us not in the UK, we likely missed “Top Boy” when it aired over five years ago. Well, not only has Netflix released the previous seasons of the series on its streaming service, but a new revival is incoming next month.

And in the new trailer for “Top Boy,” we see that some of the original stars of the crime series are back, as is the creative minds that made it such a great show. However, things have changed in the plot, as Dushane returns to his home in London and wants to take back his throne in the drug market. He’s rejoined by Sully, who is also back after a stint in prison.

“Top Boy” stars Ashley Walters and Kane Robinson, who both reprise their roles from the earlier series. Joining them are newcomer Micheal Ward, Shone Romulus, Ashley Thomas, Lisa Dwan, Jasmine Jobson, Kadeem Ramsay, Saffron Hocking, Kola Bokinni, and Hope Ikpoku. The new series is written and created by Ronan Bennett. He’s joined by his original co-creators Charles Steel, Alasdair Flind, and Yann Demange as executive producers.

The new season of “Top Boy” hits Netflix on September 13.

Here’s the synopsis:

The new episodes pick up as Dushane (Ashley Walters) returns from exile to his home in London to reclaim his throne in the highly lucrative drug market. He teams up with Sully (Kane Robinson), his spiritual brother, partner and sometime rival who is also returning to the same streets after his own form of exile – prison – comes to an end. Awaiting them both is Jamie (Micheal Ward), the young, hungry and ruthless gang leader whose ambitions leave no place for Dushane and Sully.
