Recently, it was announced that acclaimed filmmaker Julia Ducournau is set to work with NEON for a follow-up film to her breakout debut, “Raw.” At the time, all that was known is that Ducournau is going to write and direct and that the title of the project is “Titane.” However, thanks to a new report, not only do we have a synopsis of the film, but we know who might be leading the cast.
According to Cineuropa, Ducournau has cast Vincent Lindon and Agathe Rousselle to star in “Titane.” The nature of their roles is yet to be revealed, but the report also goes on to describe the film, which sounds like another thriller that would fit nicely alongside “Raw” in a double-header screening.

Here’s how the report describes “Titane”:
“Written by the director, the script opens on an airport where custom inspectors pick up a young man with a bruised face. He claims his name to be Adrien Legrand, a child who disappeared ten years ago. For Vincent, his father, this marks the end of a long nightmare and he brings him home. Simultaneously, a series of gruesome murders places the region under pressure. Alexia, model in a car showroom, has all the characteristics of the ideal victim…”
There’s still no release date for the feature, but “Titane” is expected to begin production in April 2020 and continue through May. With a production end-date sometime in the late spring, that would make it very difficult for Ducournau’s latest to be ready by the fall film festival season. This would lead us to believe that the filmmaker is planning a Cannes debut for “Titane.”
In 2016, the filmmaker debuted “Raw” during the Critics’ Week section of Cannes. The horror-thriller went on to receive acclaim from those who saw the film in France, as well as the general audiences who caught the film in theaters and home release. The excitement generated from “Raw” is the reason why all eyes are on “Titane” to see if Ducournau can do it again.
