With the launch of Disney+, there are many that wonder what all the fuss is about. Sure, the streaming service has a ton of older, largely forgotten titles from the Disney Vault, but for many, all they care about is the newer stuff. So, why would you pay $6.99 per month to have access to films and TV series you might already own? Well, in the case of “Avengers: Endgame,” at least, Marvel Studios made sure that streaming subscribers got a couple of exclusives.
When fans went to check out “Avengers: Endgame” on Disney+, they were greeted by the film, in 4K, Dolby Atmos, and all that jazz but also some new extras that weren’t previously included on the home video release of the film. And one of the extras, a deleted scene featuring Tony Stark and a grown version of his daughter, is something that has been teased for months since the release of ‘Endgame.’
*Spoilers for ‘Endgame,’ but you’ve definitely already seen it.**
In the scene, which presumably takes place the second after Iron Man snaps his fingers and restores order to the MCU, we see Tony Stark enter the Soul Stone and meet a grown version of his young daughter Morgan, who is played by “13 Reasons Why” star Katherine Langford. The scene mirrors a moment that happened in “Avengers: Infinity War,” when Thanos entered the Soul Stone, after he snapped his fingers, and was greeted by a young Gamora.
The exchange between Tony and adult Morgan is sweet, but it’s also clear why it was cut, as it doesn’t truly add much to the finale and would have slowed the film at a crucial moment. But for MCU completionists that have been waiting for it, the scene is a welcomed gift.
There’s another clip that’s shown with the streaming release of ‘Endgame,’ which includes behind-the-scenes footage from the day they shot the funeral scene. This was a significant moment, as it is the only time that so many of the cast were at the same location at the same time.
