Sorry folks, but you can’t rush out to see “Tenet” on July 17. However, if you have already requested the day off from work and need something to occupy your time, you can head out to the theater and watch the new rom-com, “The Broken Hearts Gallery.”
As seen in the trailer for “The Broken Hearts Gallery,” the film follows the story of a young woman that is reeling from a recent breakup and somehow finds her way into a strangers car when she thinks it’s a Lyft. Yes, that sounds like the premise of a horror film, but in ‘Broken Hearts,’ this terrifying situation is a meet-cute that leads to the unlikely pair finding love and blah blah blah. You know what type of movie this is right? You know what happens.
Despite the fairly strange premise, “The Broken Hearts Gallery” does have some pretty great up-and-coming actors in the cast. Geraldine Viswanathan, of “Blockers” and “Bad Education” fame, stars as the unlikely-at-love woman, while Dacre Montgomery (“Stranger Things,” “Power Rangers”) stars as her new love interest. Joining those two in the cast are Utkarsh Ambudkar, Molly Gordon, Phillipa Soo, Suki Waterhouse, Arturo Castro, Ego Nwodim, Taylor Hill, and Bernadette Peters.
“The Broken Hearts Gallery” arrives in theaters on July 17. Don’t miss “Tenet” that much anymore, huh? Who says you have to wait until July 31 for an exciting trip to the movies?
Here’s the synopsis:
What if you saved a souvenir from every relationship you’ve ever been in? THE BROKEN HEARTS GALLERY follows the always unique Lucy (Geraldine Viswanathan), a 20-something art gallery assistant living in New York City, who also happens to be an emotional hoarder. After she gets dumped by her latest boyfriend, Lucy is inspired to create The Broken Heart Gallery, a pop-up space for the items love has left behind. Word of the gallery spreads, encouraging a movement and a fresh start for all the romantics out there, including Lucy herself.
