Over the course of his film and TV career, actor Ed Helms has proven himself more than capable of playing a sincere buffoon. And Harrison Ford is a great choice to play a character that is charming, yet a bit unhinged. So, it makes sense that both men would be cast in the upcoming comedy, “The Miserable Adventures Of Burt Squire Aboard The Horn High Yo.”
According to Deadline, ErosSTX has signed Helms and Ford to star opposite each other in the upcoming comedy, based on a true story, titled “The Miserable Adventures Of Burt Squire Aboard The Horn High Yo.” The film tells the story of a man (Helms) that is suffering a mid-life crisis and decides nows the time for him to go on a sailing adventure. That’s when he finds himself shipwrecked with a slightly unhinged captain (Ford). The film is written by Ben Bolea.
Adam Fogelson, Chairman, STXfilms Motion Picture Group, said, “We love this story and are looking forward to working with Mickey and the team at LD and this incredible cast. There’s no one better than Ed Helms to play an everyday guy who gets saddled with every comedic misfortune life could throw his way, and Harrison is going to create yet another memorable and iconic character as an unhinged sea captain. Instead of a road-trip comedy, we can’t wait to see these unlikely buddies in this seafaring comedy.
Helms is probably best known for his roles in “The Hangover” franchise, “The Office,” and most recently, Netflix’s (not great) comedy, “Coffee & Kareem.” Ford is definitely best known for his iconic roles as Han Solo in the “Star Wars” saga and Indiana Jones in his other massive, billion-dollar franchise. Most recently, Ford has starred in Disney’s “Call of the Wild,” which was released earlier this year and found itself hampered by the pandemic closing down theaters less than a month after it hit.
It’s unclear when production will begin or when “Adventures of Burt Squire” will arrive in theaters or VOD.
