If you’re a “Star Wars” fan, you likely fall into one of two categories. There are the folks that just watch the films and probably “The Mandalorian.” Then you have the others that watch all of that but also will tell you how great Dave Filoni is and how you really should try to watch “Star Wars: The Clone Wars” and “Star Wars Rebels.” That latter group is going to eat up the first trailer for “Star Wars: The Bad Batch.”
As seen in the trailer for ‘The Bad Batch,’ the animated series comes from Dave Filoni and is a spinoff of ‘The Clone Wars.’ The series follows the title group of elite and experimental clones that are basically enhanced stormtroopers. Dubbed, the Bad Batch, this group of genetically enhanced soldiers has to deal with the ever-changing galaxy and find their place.
“Star Wars: The Bad Batch” is executive produced by Dave Filoni (“The Mandalorian,” “Star Wars: The Clone Wars”), Athena Portillo (“Star Wars: The Clone Wars,” “Star Wars Rebels”), Brad Rau (“Star Wars Rebels,” “Star Wars Resistance”) and Jennifer Corbett (“Star Wars Resistance,” “NCIS”) with Carrie Beck (“The Mandalorian,” “Star Wars Rebels”) as co-executive producer and Josh Rimes as producer (“Star Wars Resistance”). Rau is also serving as supervising director with Corbett as head writer.
“Star Wars: The Bad Batch” arrives on Disney+ on May 4. You can watch the trailer below.
Here’s the synopsis:
“Star Wars: The Bad Batch” follows the elite and experimental clones of the Bad Batch (first introduced in “The Clone Wars”) as they find their way in a rapidly changing galaxy in the immediate aftermath of the Clone War. Members of Bad Batch—a unique squad of clones who vary genetically from their brothers in the Clone Army—each possess a singular exceptional skill that makes them extraordinarily effective soldiers and a formidable crew.
