A new report has revealed that we’ll be getting a “Call Me By Your Name” reunion with a new horror film from Italian filmmaker Luca Guadagnino. The outlet also states that young actors Timothee Chalamet and Taylor Russell are currently in talks to take leading roles in the film “Bones & All,” described as a “horror-love story.”
The project is said to be up for bid and has multiple suitors are interested in landing the movie. Although, none of those contenders are directly named in the reporting.
Russell, a Canadian actress, is likely best known for the film “Escape Room,” “Lost In Space,” and her breakout role in the critically-acclaimed A24 indie “Waves.” Chalamet’s resume has been growing by the year with features such as Guadagnino’s “Call Me By Your Name,” Greta Gerwig‘s “Little Women,” Wes Anderson‘s “The French Dispatch,” Adam McKay‘s “Don’t Look Up,” and Denis Villeneuve‘s upcoming blockbuster “Dune” based on the sci-fi novel series penned by author Frank Herbert.
This new project wouldn’t be the first entry into horror for the director as he had previously remade Dario Argento‘s “Suspiria,” considered a classic from fans of the genre. It will also be written by “Suspiria” screenwriter Dave Kajganich, making “Bones & All” a second reunion of sorts.
The report doesn’t give us any real concrete plot points, but THR subsequently does add this detail; The film, “follows a girl who searches for the father to understand why she has the urge to kill and eat the people that love her.” However, the news of Luca returning to horror is exciting enough for the moment.
