Whether it’s “Lord of the Flies” or the upcoming film, “Voyagers,” we’ve seen time after time in fiction that young people are terrible. If given the opportunity, they’re just going to break the rules and cause all sorts of mayhem. So, maybe the best course of action is to put them on a spaceship and send them to another planet?

That’s exactly what happens in the new film, “Voyagers.” As seen in the teaser trailer, the film tells the story of a group of young men and women that are sent on a mission to colonize a distant planet. Of course, young people being young people, things don’t go to plan as they start to break the rules and give in to their most basic urges and desires, which naturally leads to sex and violence.
The sci-fi thriller stars Tye Sheridan, Lily-Rose Depp, Fionn Whitehead, Chanté Adams, Isaac Hempstead Wright, Viveik Kalra, Archie Madekwe, Quintessa Swindell, Madison Hu, and Colin Farrell. “Voyagers” is written and directed by Neil Burger. The filmmaker is probably best known for films such as “The Illusionist,” “Limitless,” “Divergent,” and “The Upside.” He has also directed episodes of “Billions.”
“Voyagers” arrives in theaters on April 9. You can watch the new teaser below.
