'Pussy Island': Zoë Kravitz To Make Directorial Debut With Tropical Island Thriller Co-Starring Channing Tatum

Zoë Kravitz recently wrapped on Steven Soderbergh‘s “KIMI” and possibly learned a thing or two from one of the fastest and organic filmmakers in the game. Kravitz will make her directorial debut with”Pussy Island,” a tropical island tech thriller that she will also co-write alongside fellow screenwriter E.T. Feigenbaum. Moreover, Kravtiz will also co-star in the movie alongside Channing Tatum.

Deadline says the project is headed to the Cannes Film Market to find a studio home and financing. “Pussy Island” focuses on Los Angeles cocktail waitress Frida (Kravitz) as she attempts to insert herself into the inner circle of philanthropist and tech mogul Slater King (Tatum) and head his luxurious private island only to discover that behind the beautiful people and champagne there is a terrifying secret on the island.

“Pussy Island” feels like a thriller for the #MeToo era, and the mysterious logline gives the impression that Tatum’s Slater King could be a combination of various tech/business people such as Amazon’s Jeff Bezos and Tesla’s Elon Musk

Since Tatum’s divorce, the actor has laid low for several years, barely appearing in any live-action films in nearly four years. But the actor has been busy. His directorial debut, “Dog,” a road-trip comedy tracking a former Army Ranger and his dog that he will star in, comes out in early 2022. His regular collaborator Reid Carolin (“Magic Mike“), co-directs.
