'Don't Breathe 2' Trailer: The Blind Killer Becomes The Hero In This Horror Sequel

Though there are a million horror films, there are seemingly a much smaller number of actual unique stories to tell in the genre, especially when it comes to sequels. Typically, if a horror film becomes popular, the sequel decides to basically mimic the first film to replicate that success. Well, the filmmakers behind “Don’t Breathe 2” are taking a very different approach.

As seen in the trailer for “Don’t Breathe 2,” the sequel takes the killer from the first film, an aging blind man that will kill anyone that enters his home, and makes him the hero of the story. Years after we saw him stalk and murder petty criminals that broke into his house, he now lives in a secluded cabin where he has taken in a young girl and is raising her. As you might expect, people break into his house, but this time you’re rooting for the blind man as he does everything he can to save the young girl from the criminals.

Once again, the film stars Stephen Lang as the blind man, Norman, and he’s clearly just as deadly as he was in the first feature. However, the first film’s director, Fede Alvarez, doesn’t return to helm this feature, instead only serving as a producer and co-writer alongside the new filmmaker, Rodo Sayagues. That said, even though Alvarez isn’t behind the camera, it’s clear his influence still remains on the franchise, which is a good thing.
