Aubrey Plaza Joins 'The White Lotus' Season 2

In the age of streaming television, the mini-series is quickly becoming the best format that dramatic narrative has, more than just a movie, time for character development, and intrigue, but can still conclude with a beginning and middle and end instead of the extended and prolonged second act that is a lot of television. Still, when you get a massive hit on your hands, the temptation to go on (and potentially make a lot more money) is very real. Look at HBO’sBig Little Lies,” which was intended to be a mini-series at first and then continued, much to the chagrin of many of its fans. Facing the same issue, whether to continue or not is something “Mare Of Easttown” is currently considering, but Mike White’s “The White Lotus,” originally intended as just a mini-series, has already decided to keep going with Jennifer Coolidge as the lead character that will tie-together the new set of travelers at an entirely new location.
