“The Menu” comes from “Succession” director Mark Mylod and producer Adam McKay with a script penned by Seth Reiss and Will Tracy. The film is a dark comedy that focuses on a couple, played by Anya Taylor-Joy and Nicholas Hoult, that travels to a coastal island to eat at an exclusive restaurant where the chef has prepared a lavish menu, with some shocking surprises. We’re certainly curious if those “surprises” feature cannibalism.
Searchlight Pictures has just released a first-look still (See below) featuring Taylor-Joy and Ralph Fiennes as the chef in the kitchen along with the announcement that the pic will debut in theaters on November 18.

Oscar-winner Emma Stone had been previously attached for the lead role before Taylor-Joy replaced her.
The rest of the cast consists of Hong Chau, Janet McTeer, Judith Light, Reed Birney, Paul Adelstein, Amiee Carreo, Arturo Castro, Mark St. Cyr, Rob Yang, and John Leguizamo.
Taylor-Joy is a busy bee, most recently seen in Edgar Wright‘s thriller “Last Night in Soho,” has the Viking epic “The Northman” in theaters this Friday, completed a new David O’Russell film, and is getting ready to star in George Miller‘s “Furiosa,” a prequel to “Mad Max: Fury Road” that co-stars Aussie action star Chris Hemsworth.
She had also been attached as the female lead of Robert Eggers‘ vampire flick “Nosterfatu” but casting has been an issue for it moving forward into production and Scott Frank has mentioned the possibility of a potential reunion after working together on the hit Netflix series “The Queen’s Gambit.”
