As stated earlier, the film has been subject to any assortment of reasons for constant delays and uncertainty about its production. One worth mentioning to create further excitement for the film, “Avatar: The Way of Water” includes a literal first in cinema. Befitting of its title, a wide variety of scenes were shot underwater, primarily through a reunion of director Cameron and actress Kate Winslet. Playing one of the Na’vi aliens, she and other actors in these underwater sequences had their motion capture really shot underwater, something supposedly never done in any film before.

If people fondly remember “Avatar” for one thing, it is the boundary-pushing special effects that still have the ability to astound today. James Cameron and his crew are going to keep pushing the technological envelope. Viewers intrigued with seeing what comes next may also get to look forward to a more emotional element. In an interview with one of the film’s returning actors, Stephen Lang, he said of the film’s writing, “When I finished the last script, I was weeping. I just thought it was so beautiful.” With tight lips about further details of its plot and visuals, that much more anticipation is building for what this first sequel will hold. Finally, our first footage gives us that long-desired peek.
