Whoa, speaking of Edgar Wright’s “Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World,” Universal Pictures has sent out a “Wishing You A Merry Christmas” email blast to its subscribers with a “very looking forward to working with you for our 2010” line-up message.
Therein it reveals the release date of Scott Pilgrim’ as August 27, 2010 and it gives us a tiny first look at an official still that shows Michael Cera with a lightsaber. However this is a email message to the U.K., so presumably this is the U.K. date only, yes? Maybe, maybe not. Other Universal films are listed as well like “The Wolfman,” “Robin Hood” and “Green Zone” and their dates are the exact matching ones in the U.S.
Then again, according to IMDB, those films are set to come out in the U.S. and the U.K. at the same time. One of our U.K. writers speculates that ‘Scott Pilgrim’ could inhabit the “Inglourious Basterds” release date which in 2010 would be one week earlier on August 20, but one things for sure, it definitely appears that August is the month “Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World” will hit theaters worldwide (and it’s very possible it will have the same day-and-date release as the U.K.). Update: Our peanut gallery tells us the release date in France is August 18, so August 20 in the U.S. is looking more and more likely.

“Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World” hits theaters on… well, August 27 in the U.K., that’s for sure and sometime in August in the U.S. if not the same date.
