Two Of The Greatest Songwriters Ever: Trailer For 'The Boys: The Sherman Brothers' Story'

You know who the Sherman Brothers are, you just don’t know it.

Basically they were the in-house music team for Disney and “The Boys: The Sherman Brothers’ Story” examines the incalculable impact of the songs written by the siblings who wrote every classic indelible song to every Disney movie you’ve ever known your entirely life (we thought about listing them all out, but the list is staggering). Seriously, who doesn’t have some sort of connection to these songs from their youth?

The Boys: The Sherman Brothers’ Story” is a feature-length documentary about the Sherman Brothers, the astoundingly prolific Academy Award-winning songwriting team whose successful professional collaboration in family entertainment masked the brothers’ escalating personal differences throughout their six-decade partnership.

We saw this trailer in theaters a few weeks ago and it seriously looks so good. We were hoping for an invite to this one, but apparently it quietly came out in theaters on May 22 in limited release while we were in Cannes and it has a super good 92% RT rating. Maybe we’ll try and catch it this weekend if we have time. If not, this is something we will definitely catch on DVD.

“I remember the songs more than I remember the movies [themselves],” says Ben Stiller who is interviewed in the film. “They had a gigantic impact,” says director John Landis. Seriously, at least watch the trailer, this thing looks wonderful.
