This year, you’ll be getting Michael Fassbender delivered in a variety of flavors. We’ve already seen him in blockbuster mode with the hit "X-Men: Days Of Future Past," later this summer he’s at the center of the bonkers indie comedy "Frank," and should post-production finish in time, he’ll get Shakespearian with "Macbeth." And oh yeah, there’s one more too: "Slow West." And the first image from the film has arrived.
Co-starring Kodi Smit-McPhee and Ben Mendelsohn, and directed by John Maclean (who helmed two previous Fassbender-starring shorts, “Man on a Motorcycle” and “Pitch Black Heist”), this western has a pretty intriguing premise. "It’s a film set in the 1800s. I play a young Scottish boy brought up in the royal family. I fall in love with someone who works on our land. She ends up fleeing to Colorado because she’s wanted for a bounty, a murder, something she didn’t do," Smit-McPhee told Crave Online. "I end up with all my royalty money following her and trying to find her. It’s just about my adventure trying to find my love from my point of few. Fassbender plays a bounty hunter, mysterious cowboy who helps me get there."
Yep, we’re sold. No word yet on a release date, but we’d wager this is a pretty good bet for the fall festival circuit. [via Flicks And Bits]
