With Terry Gilliam now moving on to his next film, “The Man Who Killed Don Quixote,” with an early 2015 shoot being eyed, we’re still waiting stateside for his latest film, “The Zero Theorem.” However, the international rollout continues, and today comes another new trailer giving folks a taste of the futuristic world the filmmaker has conjured up this time around. So what’s it about?
“That’s the hard part, trying to describe it. I’ve never been good at describing what I do, I just do it. Here’s the simple, quick sound bite: I think I made ‘Brazil’ for 2013,” Gilliam told us last summer. ” ‘Brazil’ had things that were obsessing me about the world at that time, and same thing here. This is more about connectivity, the connected universe, and whether you can separate yourself from it. “
And the cast of Christoph Waltz, David Thewlis, Melanie Thierry, Ben Whishaw, Tilda Swinton and Matt Damon, come together to tell the story of Quinn, who is tasked with solving the Zero Theorem, an equation that proves that existence is meaningless. But as he says in this new trailer for the film, who would want to solve that riddle?
Still no word on a U.S. release date but hopefully the folks at Amplify figure out something soon. Watch below. [Allocine]
