This weekend, the only film opening in wide release stateside is “Captain America: The Winter Soldier.” Why are the other studios staying away? Because Marvel‘s movie is going to be a monster, with tracking suggesting it’s poised to open with over $90 million this weekend, smashing previous April records, and Marvel is doing all they can to put every single butt in the seats.
That means lots of clips, so today there are a couple: an international reel showing Captain America facing off against Batroc, and another highlight with our hero smashing up some kind of futuristic drone/aircraft thingy. That’s not all: for the diehards still watching “Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D.,” you likely caught a little crossover moment last night. You’ll remember that Agent Jasper Sitwell (Maximiliano Hernández) bowed out of the episode in the first fifteen minutes to catch a boat to his next assignment. Well, that gig found him held hostage and as you’ll see in yet another clip from “Captain America: The Winter Soldier,” Steve Rogers comes aboard to help save the day (you can see Sitwell at 1:57).
Bought your tickets yet? ‘The Winter Solider’ goes on duty on Friday. [ComicBookMovie/Deadline]
