In a few days Steve Rogers is back in theaters in the U.S. with “Captain America: The Winter Soldier,” and with that comes a variety of interesting tidbits not only about the film, but about what’s coming down the line too.
But first up is a bit of trivia and a peek into how Marvel ensures their movies resonate with audiences around the globe. In the opening scenes of ‘The Winter Soldier,’ the frozen in time and recently thawed Captain America reveals the list of pop culture things he needs to catch up with. Except, that as Slashfilm points out, that list differs from territory to territory. So up above you have the U.S. list, while below you can see the U.K. version that swaps in The Beatles, World Cup Final (1966) and Sean Connery.
And around the world, there are tweaks to fit local culture. In France, “The Fifth Element” and 1998 World Cup are on the list, Aussies like AC/DC and Steve Irwin, and South Koreans are tipped with “Oldboy” and “Dance Dance Revolution.”
Meanwhile, with the roadmap to “Avengers: Age Of Ultron” being rolled out, Kevin Feige continues to tease fans about what they can expect from Joss Whedon‘s currently in production super-sequel. And if you like Hulk and Hawkeye, you’re going to see more of them. “….part of the fun of ‘Age Of Ultron’ was saying, you’ve seen another ‘Iron Man’ adventure before, you see another ‘Thor’ adventure and another ‘Cap’ adventure, but we haven’t seen the Green Goliath again,” he told JoBlo. “So that was important in the characters you haven’t seen—Hulk being one of them and Hawkeye being one of them.
‘Ultron’ will make up for it. They have very big parts in ‘Age Of Ultron.’ “
However, one person you won’t see in ‘Ultron’ is Lindsay Lohan. CinemaBlend has been watching the actresses’ reality show and in a recent episode, Lohan claimed that her people got her a part in “The Avengers,” but they didn’t push her for the role hard enough, and it wound up going to “an unknown.” What the part exactly was hasn’t been shared, but we’ll leave the guesswork to you in the comments section.
Lastly, here’s yet another “Captain America: The Winter Soldier” featurette before you see the movie on April 4th.
