Corey Stoll Joins 'Ant-Man' & Chris Evans Teases 'Avengers: Age Of Ultron' Plot Detail

Non-Stop

First up, comes news from The Wrap that Corey Stoll—aka Ernest Hemingway in “Midnight In Paris” and Congressman Russo from the first season “House of Cards”—is circling an undisclosed role in next year’s Edgar Wright-helmed “Ant-Man.” Due to the secrecy, could Stoll’s role be important in Marvel’s grand plan moving forward? We won’t know until Stoll actually commits and joins Paul Rudd and Michael Douglas in the superhero film officially.

Now, moving on to a Marvel film that’s nearer to release: “Captain America: The Winter Soldier.” During an interview with The Scotsman, a digression between the writer and Chris Evans about the cool period jackets the superhero wore in the first film—and is briefly glimpsed in the second at a Smithsonian exhibit—may have inadvertently lead to a “Avengers: Age Of Ultron” spoiler. We’ll let the writer lay it out for you: “And then [Evans] mentions that he’s just been measured up for another period jacket for his next ‘Avengers’ film. Does that suggest the Captain will return to his past in ‘The Avengers: Age Of Ultron?’ Evans looks briefly agonized, realizing that he might be confirming an unauthorized plot detail ahead of that film’s 2015 release. ‘Maybe,’ he says coyly.”

So could Marvel and Joss Whedon be following in Bryan Singer’s footsteps with “X-Men: Days of Future Past” and pulling some time travel hijinks? Could there be some important extended flashback that sees the Captain back in his WWII days? Or could it be simply that Captain America will once again get a costume refresh, this time nodding towards his roots as opposed to the sleeker suit in ‘Winter Soldier?’ While you consider that riddle, check out the new very snazzy and retro one-sheet for the new Captain America film (courtesy of Empire) below and see “Captain America: The Winter Soldier” when it opens internationally tomorrow and on April 4th in North America.
