Seminal D.C. hardcore rasta rockers Bad Brains will be the subject of a documentary called, “Bad Brains: The Movie” (or just “Bad Brains” seems to be confusion btwn Facebook and Myspace) Written and Directed by Mandy Stein & Ben Logan, the film follows the music and the life of the Bad Brains from 1979 to present day. Their on-again, off-again lead singer H.R. is kind of nuts, so it should be pretty entertaining.
The filmmakers are currently in post-production by still looking for footage and submissions. Here’s the trailer they’ve cooked up so far. The film so far includes interviews and glowing testimonials with Ian MacKaye (Fugazi, Minor Threat), filmmaker Don Letts (the underappreciated “Dancehall Queen”), Henry Rollins (Black Flag), members of the Cro-Mags, big fans, the Beastie Boys and rapper ‘Lil John.
