As Sunday’s Oscar ceremony rolls closer, Megan Ellison has a lot be proud of. The producer’s Annapurna Pictures shingle is behind the film with the most nominations (“American Hustle,” with 10 nods and tied with “Gravity“), has another contender in “Her” which is up for a small handful of awards and generally speaking, has a lot to celebrate from across the last year. And just as they did for 2012, Annapurna has cut together sizzle reel highlight their accomplishments in 2013.
And indeed, few companies could boast working with filmmakers as diverse as Harmony Korine (“Spring Breakers“) and Wong Kar-Wai (“The Grandmaster“), in addition to David O. Russell and Spike Jonze, in the course of a career, let alone 365 days. And yes, included within is footage from Bennett Miller‘s highly anticipated “Foxcatcher” starring Steve Carell, Channing Tatum and Mark Ruffalo, which was originally planned for a 2013 release before being pushed to a still undetermined 2014 slot.
