When it rains, it pours, except if you’re “Noah” when rain means the imminent destruction of the planet, and that your only hope for survival is an ark you built yourself and populated with a pair of every animal on Earth. Was “Noah” the first hoarding story?
In any event, in Darren Aronofsky‘s hands, it’s a tale of hubris, humanity and environmentalism, where the soil literally bleeds, fields are scorched by fire and Ray Winstone is a cult leader who doesn’t believe in ambitious carpentry. With the seas getting ready to rise and give forth, a new international trailer and TV spot have landed for “Noah” and… well, it’s a lot more of the same. Paramount seem to be selling a very specific vision of the movie, which is largely believed to have some funky fantastical elements to it as well. Whether or not those will survive the process is unclear, even if the director and studio are totally cool with Aronofsky’s final cut.
“Noah” arrives on March 28th. Watch below.
