“People are always like, ‘there are dark characters in other super hero movies,’ and I say mostly those super heroes are doing stuff that [we’re already doing]. In my movie…[pause], in ‘Watchmen,’ it’s really dark stuff.” Zack Snyder’s backpeddle in this MTV “Watchmen” interview is amusing. Yes, it is his movie, but he tends to sound eager for a lot of ownership on the idea and the concept of “dark” heroes that he certainly didn’t invent. What would Alan Moore think?
