So, we’re at the midway point of the summer blockbuster season, with “Man Of Steel” set to hit theaters this weekend. But there is plenty more spectacle to come with Guillermo Del Toro‘s “Pacific Rim” stomping into theaters next month, “The Lone Ranger” galloping into cinemas, “World War Z” ready to unleash holy hell, and “The Wolverine” baring his claws soon. And one more hoping to bring the sizzle to the multiplex BBQ is Neill Blomkamp‘s “Elysium.”
Matt Damon leads the us vs. them sci-fi flick, playing a dude who needs cancer treatment, and decides to bust into the space station belonging to the Richie Riches of the world so that he can get treatment. But Jodie Foster isn’t keen on the idea, and she sends Sharlto Copley to stop him by any means necessary, leading to hopefully a marriage of ideas of explosions on the scale of “District 9” (meaning smart and entertaining all at once).
