Lee Pace Lands Villain Role In 'Guardians Of The Galaxy'

nullWe’ve already commented on the sorta variety pack casting of Marvel‘s “Guardians Of The Galaxy,” but when the movie comes out, no matter who is in it, you’re either going to be down with talking raccoons in space or you’re not. But if so, then the villain role has landed a pretty good dude to take it on.

Lee Pace, perhaps best known for his role in “Pushing Daisies,” and who will definitely be more of a household name following the next two “The Hobbit” movies where he’ll be playing Thranduil, has joined the supernatural Marvel movie. Yes, he’ll be playing the baddie, and no, we don’t know who/what it is because it’s being kept under wraps, so speculate away! Will it be teased perhaps at the end of “Thor: The Dark World” or perhaps on the “S.H.I.E.L.D.” show? We’ll just have to see what wily Kevin Feige decides to do. Anyway, Pace will be joining Zoe SaldanaChris PrattDave BautistaMichael Rooker and Ophelia Lovibond in the flick, which should make the poster artwork pretty interesting come next year.

James Gunn will turn on the cameras in June and movie will hit on August 1, 2014. [The Wrap]
