Guns N' Roses To Debut New Chinese Democracy Track In Ridley Scott's 'Body Of Lies'

Remember “Body of Lies” aka the movie still in the top contention for Worst Film Poster of 2008? [ed. Seriously, did they spend like two hours on that, max?)

The Ridley Scott-directed film starring Russell Crowe and Leonardo DiCaprio as embattled CIA agents in Jordan has zero buzz going for it despite the fact that it’s supposed to be Oscar bait (shit, we just realized it comes out next Friday, no screeners yet?).

But maybe Axl Rose can help it out slightly? Guns N’ Roses will debut “If the World”, a song from the long-gestating (read: way overlabored) album Chinese Democracy which is finally hitting stores via Bestbuy later this year (tentatively November 25). According to Rolling Stone, the song features the guitar fretwork of Gn’R guitarist Robin Finck, and the guitar freak, Buckethead, who left the band in ’04.

As you’d probably guess, the song will play in the film’s closing credits. As a GNR song probably doesn’t really fit into your average Ridley Scott film no matter how bad they get these days. As is our nature these days, we have zero interest in hearing Chinese Democracy, the tracks that leaked earlier this year, were laughable. But hey, we’ll take a free screening of “Body Of Lies” if you got one, why not.
