A Few New Pics Of Emma Watson & Logan Lerman In 'The Perks Of Being A Wallflower'

nullStephen Chbosky’s “The Perks of Being a Wallflower” is one of those incredibly popular books that you’ve either read yourself, or know a bunch of people who swear by it. The young adult novel is getting a big screen adaptation, written and directed by Chbosky himself, with Summit releasing the film sometime in 2012. A small handful of new pictures are up from the film, and it looks like a lot of young, romantic longing and wallflower-esque behavior. Emma Watson and Logan Lerman — looking poignant and thoughtful — lead the film about a shy, unpopular teenager (Lerman) who, through a series of letters to an anonymous person, explores his awkward adolescence, including drug use, abuse and sexuality in 1991 Pittsburgh.

Literary popularity does not always translate to box office gold, as the producers of “The Golden Compass” can tell you (that movie made bank overseas, but New Line had sold off foreign territories, so they didn’t see any of that money). The producers of ‘Wallflower’ (one of whom is John Malkovich) are no doubt hoping this project will fall into the "successful" category, and they’ve got a pretty engaging roster of actors to back that up, with Ezra Miller, Johnny Simmons, Melanie Lynskey, Mae Whitman, Nicholas Braun, Dylan McDermott and most excitingly, Paul Rudd (who is apparently not letting his leading man status keep him away from small, interesting roles) all featured in the movie.

Lerman is on the rise, memorably delivering his own shot at the “The Amazing Spider-Man” lead last year, but with the trailer for that Andrew Garfield-led film looking like a snore, it’s possible that Lerman will have the last laugh on this one. Pics below.
