'A Quiet Place' Spinoff Is Officially A Prequel Titled 'A Quiet Place: Day One'

John Krasinski has seen a lot of success with his “A Quiet Place” movies and the original sci-fi horror idea hatched by the actor/director has developed into a franchise at Paramount in a very short period of time. The studio is keen on expanding the universe as the third chapter starring Emily Blunt is expected to be released in 2025 and a separate spinoff feature film is on deck too.

Some new clues have dropped about that spinoff and where it takes place within the timeline.

Paramount has announced at CinemaCon 2022 in Las Vegas this week that their spinoff to “A Quiet Place” that has Michael Sarnoski (“Pig“) attached to direct will be titled, “A Quiet Place: Day One.” Going by the title, the film will be a prequel that may explain the origins of the sound-sensitive creatures.

You may remember that Sarnoski took over directing duties after Jeff Nichols (“Midnight Special“) exited to pursue his own sci-fi film at Paramount instead.

We’re still waiting on further announcements about who will direct Blunt in “A Quiet Place III,” even if there is a good shot Krasinski will simply do it himself.

“A Quiet Place: Day One” is slated to be released on September 22, 2023, which would suggest that Paramount will want to get cameras rolling before the end of the year. I guess we’ll have to stay tuned for cast announcements and further plot details.
