Director Jon Favreau recently tweeted, “Home stretch of the sound mix this weekend. Laying in score, sound effects and AC/DC. Blasting Shoot To Thrill on huge theater speakers.” So we know that at least one song from the forthcoming greatest-hits-movie-tie-in album will actually be in “Iron Man 2.” You can watch the video, released a couple of months ago, for the track with exclusive “Iron Man 2” footage here.
While we’ll have to wait until the movie arrives to see how AC/DC laden the soundtrack is (or not, especially for our EIC’s sake) the question remains, just how do you want your dude-rock served up to you? The album will come in a few different flavors which you can check out at the band’s website, with collector’s edition boasting the most bell and whistles including: an AC/DC poster, stickets and a limited edition reprint of “The Invicible Iron Man #1.”
As for the tracklisting its about as spotty as you might expect trying to distill the band’s catalog to fifteen songs would be. What, no “Jailbreak” or “It’s A Long Way To The Top (If You Wanna Rock ‘N Roll)”? At the very least, they could’ve tried to sneak “Big Balls” on there for a laugh.
The soundtrack hits stores on April 19th. “Iron Man 2” opens internationally on April 28th, while the rest of us will have to wait until May 7th.
