Adam McKay Says Fan Outcry *Could* Help 'Anchorman 2'... Eventually

Sigh… Dear Adam McKay, please stop toying with us. First you tell us “Anchorman 2” is deader than Dillinger and than you keep throwing us vague false hopes of maybe “down the road.”

The director is at it again in an interview with Collider, but truthfully, he doesn’t say a lot that we haven’t already heard.

When asked if fan outcry was heard from Paramount or made a difference McKay said yes, it was heard and made a small dent.

“It did, it made a difference. Paramount heard it. Adam Goodman, the President of Paramount, was on the first one so he loves it and when that outcry came, he was kind of excited because he knew it could maybe push it towards happening. That having been said, I’m clearly going into it like another movie so if it does happen it’s still two years away or a ways away. And I haven’t talked to anyone. There’s nothing happening right now but it helped, it helped.”

So yes, maybe, possibly eventually, but not right now or anytime soon. McKay will be directing “The Boys” next (he’s also toying with making a Lee Atwater film). Same shit, different day. At ease.
