While word has yet to come down from Disney and Lucasfilm, it looks like everything is a done deal for the role of Han Solo in the “Star Wars” spinoff, and the name won’t be a surprise.

Alden Ehrenreich (“Hail, Caesar!,” “Tetro“) is inking the deal to lead Phil Lord and Chris Miller‘s take on the younger years of everyone’s favorite smuggler. There are no details yet on what story Lawrence and Jon Kasdan are coming up with, but yes, Chewbacca is expected to be in there too, because, obviously. Ehrenreich has been pegged for Han Solo ever since gaining frontrunner status in the lengthy casting process, a couple of weeks back.
The young Han Solo movie will hit theaters on May 25, 2018, and it looks like production will be starting soon…. [Deadline]
