Alexandre Aja Out, Joe Carnahan In For Vampire Flick 'Undying Love'

nullWhile Joe Carnahan appears to be working on this action flick "Continue," tweeting over the weekend that he wanted to drop Frank Grillo's screen tests online, it looks like the director is adding another project to his plate.

Deadline reports that Carnahan is now attached to direct the vampire action flick "Undying Love," which was previously attached Alexandre Aja earlier this spring. Based on the graphic novel by Tomm Coker and Daniel Freedman, who also wrote the first draft of the script, the story centers around an ex-soldier who falls in love with a vampire, but in order to be with her he must take on her creator, who is protected by an army of monsters in the Hong Kong underworld. Well, we'll certainly say it's a different spin on the genre, and as long as it doesn't involve anyone named Edward or Bella, that can only be a good thing.

Carnahan will be taking his pen to the material so this will likely be a bit of a way off. In addition to "Continue," the ever busy helmer is also gearing up to shoot the pilot for A&E's "Those Who Kill," based on the original Danish crime series. So lots on his plate, but hopefully we'll soon see what his next feature project turns out to be.
