Alyson Hannigan Is Going To Tell More Band Camp Stories In 'American Reunion'

With Seann William Scott, Jason Biggs and Eugene Levy all signed and Thomas Ian Nicholas, Tara Reid, Chris Klein, Mena Suvari and Jennifer Coolidge all expected to return in the we-didn’t-ask-for-this sequel “American Reunion,” the lone holdout of sorts was Alyson Hannigan. Her name was curiously missing from early reports on the film but it looks like the “How I Met Your Mother” actress hasn’t become too big-headed of a sitcom star to turn down this latest entry in the franchise (that, and it’s likely Universal backed up a bigger truck full of money into her driveway).

The actress is set to reprise her role Michelle Flaherty, now married, who hangs out with her old pals in East Great Falls for their 10-year high school reunion. Hooray. In case you wondered what happened to Stifler and the gang, well, you’ll find out here and those questions that have been keeping you up at night will finally be answered.

Harold & Kumar” series creators Jon Hurwitz and Hayden Schlossberg have written the script so don’t expect the jokes to match the sophistication of warm apple pie fucking from the first film. Production will begin later this spring for probably a summer release in 2012. [Deadline]
