Amanda Knox-Inspired 'Wild Things' Sequel In The Works With Original Director John McNaughton

Wild Things” came out in 1998 to a mixed response, to put it lightly. Most of you probably remember it as the film where Neve Campbell, Denise Richards, and Matt Dillon get it on. Believe it or not, there have been three sequels to the film, all coming out straight to video. So one would assume that the “Wild Things” well has pretty much run dry at this point, after all, the “franchise” has essentially evolved into soft-core porn flicks. But, John McNaughton, director of the 1998 film, has an idea for a “Wild Things” sequel that may actually perk your interest, or at least make you laugh at just how ridiculous it sounds.

Speaking to Hollywood.com, McNaughton has revealed that he and screenwriter Stephen Peters are indeed working on a “Wild Things” follow-up. “It’s not one of the sequels, but about their children,” he continues, “Do you know the Amanda Knox case? It’s something like that. Something that’s like the child of Suzie Toller [Neve Campbell’s character], she claimed that Matt Dillon’s character raped her a long time ago and maybe there is a child and maybe Bill Murray’s character had a child and they’re exchange students and things get out of hand. We’re calling it ‘Wild Child Things.’ ”

“Wild Child Things”? This has to be a joke, right?

Apparently not. “Just about 3 weeks ago, Stephen Peters’ manager sent me an email saying he had this idea and he sent me a one page outline and I think it’s pretty fun. We’re trying to see if there’s any interest.” So what do you think? Would you like to see “Wild Child Things”? Does it sound intriguing to you at all? Let us know below. Just wait until McNaughton makes a Kickstarter campaign for this…
