The new FX series takes the idea of an anthology series to a granular level. Instead of each season being a standalone story like the original series does, “American Horror Stories” is an anthology-based series with each episode acting as a contained story. The new story ties back to the original series through iconic moments in “American Horror Story.” For example, the “American Horror Stories” trailer has featured shots of Murder House and the Rubber Man suit, which are iconic pieces of imagery from the first season of the television show. If its anything like its predecessor, fans can expect “American Horror Stories” to continue to tie back to the larger universe.
