Amy Winehouse Still Working On New Bond Theme, But No Guarantees, Sister

Back in February, James Bond “Quantum Of Solace” producers told Amy Winehouse, shape up or ship out. Or rather they dangled a “get clean” carrot incentive over her head by saying if she got her shit together they’d let her compose the theme for the umpteenth Bond film.

Well, Winehouse is now relatively clean outside a few assaults here and there and is officially working on the theme according to the BBC, but that don’t mean it’s been confirmed for use in the film. Mark Ronson, Winehouse’s producer and collaborator, told the radio station BBC6 Music, “Hopefully it will get used. We’re working on it and we’ll see happens,” Ronson said, adding that she was approached first about the theme song and he’s producing her new album.

“They asked Amy, and I think Amy said that if she did it, she’d want to do it with me. So hopefully something will come of it. The demo sounds like a James Bond theme, hopefully. But I don’t know if it’ll get used.I’m sure there are loads more really famous people that probably we’re competing with and we don’t know about. I’m not sure.”

Ronson is confident if they don’t get this one, they’ll have another shot at it considering the fact they’ll be milking this franchise for at least another two decades. “Hopefully I’ll still be alive for at least 12 more Bond themes. If we don’t get this one maybe we’ll get another one.”
