Andrew Garfield Continues To Deny His 'Spider-Man: No Way Home' Involvement But Admits "How F*cking Cool Would It Be?"

Andrew Garfield is probably the ‘Spider-Man’ actor that hasn’t gotten the most respect out of the major live-action stars that have taken on the role. He’s not the Peter Parker actor that helped break records and ignite audiences’ love of superhero films like Tobey Maguire did in 2002. And he’s not the current Peter Parker actor that gets to interact with the Avengers and star in the biggest films on the planet like Tom Holland is currently doing. But Garfield’s fairly short run as Spider-Man in his ‘Amazing’ franchise does have its fans. And those fans are desperate to see him return in the upcoming “Spider-Man: No Way Home,” even though the actor still denies being involved.

Speaking to Variety, Andrew Garfield is asked about the idea of him returning in ‘No Way Home,’ and like he’s done in the past, he continues to deny it. However, he does tease that the prospect of him showing up in the multiverse-heavy film, alongside Tom Holland and Tobey Maguire, is pretty exciting. And he admits, the speculation is either going to lead to something exciting or a massive disappointment for fans.

“I understand why people are freaking out about the concept of that because I’m a fan as well. You can’t help but imagine scenes and moments of ‘Oh, my God, how fucking cool would it be if they did that?’” Garfield explained. “But it’s important for me to say on the record that this is not something I’m aware I am involved in. But I know I’m not going to be able to say anything that will convince anyone that I don’t know what’s happening. No matter what I say, I’m fucked. It’s either going to be really disappointing for people or it’s going to be really exciting.”

But even though his future as Spider-Man is still uncertain, Garfield doesn’t look back at his time with the character as bad, even if Sony cut it short to focus on yet another reboot. In fact, the actor only has nice things to say about his run as Peter Parker.

“It was only beautiful,” he said. I got to meet Emma [Stone] and work with her and Sally Field. I had karma with Amy Pascal, who was a mother figure, and we would fight, but ultimately, we loved each other on a deep level. We tried to meet as much in the middle as we could in terms of why I wanted to do this role, and what her needs were as the head of the studio.”

Will Garfield get a chance to redeem his Peter Parker in ‘No Way Home?’ Or will fans be completely let down as fan speculation leads to one of the biggest disappointments in superhero film history? We’ll find out when “Spider-Man: No Way Home” hits theaters on December 17.
