A new film from acclaimed filmmaker Rebecca Miller is enough to get anyone excited. But add to it the fact that the new feature, “She Came to Me,” has an incredible cast led by Anne Hathaway, and suddenly, the romantic comedy is one of our most-anticipated releases of the next couple of years.
Rebecca Miller, who previously helmed films such as “Maggie’s Plan,” “The Private Lives of Pippa Lee,” and “Personal Velocity,” is set to helm a new rom-com titled, “She Came to Me.” And sweetening the deal is the fact that the cast is set to be led by Anne Hathaway, Tahar Rahim, Marisa Tomei, Joanna Kulig, and Matthew Broderick. Interestingly, Miller has been working on this film for years, and previously, the cast was set to include Nicole Kidman, Steve Carell, and Amy Schumer. Obviously, over the past several years, that has changed.
Here’s the synopsis for the film:
She Came to Me is a truly modern romantic comedy, a multi-generational story set against the iconic backdrop of New York: a composer suffering from writer’s block rediscovers his passion after an adventurous one-night stand, a couple of gifted teenagers fight to prove to the parents that their young love is something that can last forever, and for the woman who seemingly has it all – love arrives in the most unexpected places.

“After an incredibly difficult period in the world, we couldn’t be more excited to be producing Rebecca’s next film,” said producers Christine Vachon, Pamela Koffler, and Damon Cardasis. “Rebecca has created a hilarious, timely, and uplifting New York story and we are thrilled to have such a uniquely talented cast join us on our journey.”
Not only is “She Came to Me” a film with a great director and a star-studded cast, but the film also is set to feature a score by one of the best film composers in the world, Alexandre Desplat. Previous works from Desplat include “The Grand Budapest Hotel,” “The Shape of Water,” “The Curious Case of Benjamin Button,” and “Little Women.”
Filming of “She Came to Me” is expected to begin this fall, but a release date and distributor has yet to be announced.
