April Fool’s: Watch Ryan Reynolds’ Admit That ‘Deadpool’ Will Actually Be Rated R (No Joke)

Deadpool Test FootageLook, “Last Week Tonight” host John Oliver already declared that April Fool’s Day is/was terrible and that really should have been it. Unfortunately, that didn’t deter anyone, and today was essentially national skepticism day. But in a surprisingly involved and elaborate April Fool’s Day prank played by 20th Century Fox, Ryan Reynolds, Mario Lopez, and movie publication JoBlo, some significant news was unveiled for fans.

The gist of it is this: In the morning, Joblo “revealed” that “Deadpool” would have a PG-13 rating, something that the fans had dreaded given all the violence and irreverent F-Bombs that the “merc with the mouth” is always spouting. Reynolds got in on the action with his own tweets telling fans to chill and that don’t worry, the terrorists hadn’t won, etc.

And then, in an elaborate video with Mario Lopez playing an Extra TV Host (is he actually on that show?), the “Deadpool” star revealed, JUST KIDDING. “Deadpool” will actually be rated R, because America and freedom, obviously. There you go, happy? Directed by Tim Miller, and starring Ryan Reynolds, Morena Baccarin, T.J. Miller, Gina Carano, Brianna Hildebrand, and Ed Skrein, “Deadpool” chimichangas into theaters on February 12, 2016. Watch the video below.
