If you couldn’t get enough of “Army of the Dead,” you’re in luck. In what may be the quickest franchise continuation of all time, fan-favorite Dieter (Matthias Schweighöfer) is back for “Army of Thieves,” just a few months after its predecessor arrived on Netflix.

As shown as Netflix’s inaugural TUDUM event, the “Army of Thieves” trailer shows Dieter’s life before the events of “Army of the Dead.” Before he sacrificed himself in the zombie apocalypse, he was just a bank teller. But his quiet life gets interrupted by the adventure of a lifetime when a woman recruits him to join a crew of Interpol’s most wanted criminals for a legendary heist.

Nathalie Emmanuel (“Game of Thrones“), Ruby O. Fee (“The Invisibles“), Stuart Martin (“Miss Scarlet and the Duke“), Guz Khan (“Four Weddings and a Funeral“), and Jonathan Cohen (“Family Business“) join Schweighöfer in the movie’s cast. In addition to starring in the film, Schweighöfer also directed it. But fans of the original movie have no need to worry — Zack Snyder has both writing and co-producing credits on the upcoming film.
