Thankfully, Robert Zemeckis and Bob Gale have scuppered any fears that the success of “Jurassic World” might lead to a “Back To The Future” reboot, saying it’ll never happen in their lifetimes. But with the seminal time travel movie celebrating its 30th anniversary this year, Universal was bound to celebrate/wring more cash out of fans somehow, and it looks like they’ll take the opportunity to do so in October.

October 21st, 2015 is the day in the future that Marty and Doc head to in the first sequel, spawning a thousand inaccurate themes, and Universal revealed that they’ll mark the date not just with a new home video reissue, but also a theatrical re-release of the entire trilogy, for one day only. Details are thin regarding the new theatrical outing right now, but fans will surely be excited about the prospect of seeing all three movies in October.
As for the new issuing of the movie, the DVD and Blu-ray will include all three films, plus a bonus disc with two hours of new, as-yet unspecified content. The short-lived Animated Series will also be released for the first time, and you’ll be able to get everything together in a new “Back To The Future: The Complete Adventures” set made up to look like the Flux Capacitor. It too, will arrive in stores on October 21st: we’re presumably going to see a lot of "Jaws" sequels and a proliferation of hoverboards between now and then. Look at a trailer for the new release below. [The Verge]
