A trailer is expected to lay out the basics of a film and tease the audience in a way that makes them dying to see the full thing. Typically, that involves showing a brief overview of the plot and some dialogue/action that might show the stakes. Those rules don’t really apply in the new trailer for “Bad Luck Banging or Loony Porn,” as the trailer is just as wild and unpredictable as the film itself.

As seen in the footage from the trailer, ‘Bad Luck Banging’ is a unique film that tells the story of a schoolteacher that finds herself under fire after a sex tape she made with her husband is put online for the world to see. But the premise doesn’t really fully explain just how whacky the film is, as the feature is filled with a ton of humor and interesting set pieces that place it firmly in the absurdist category.
The film stars Katia Pascariu, Claudia Ieremia, Olimpia Malai, and Nicodim Ungureanu. ‘Bad Luck Banging’ is written and directed by Radu Jude. The film had its world premiere earlier this year at the Berlin Film Festival, where it took home the coveted Golden Bear, which is the top prize at the event.
“Bad Luck Banging or Loony Porn” arrives in theaters on November 19 from Magnolia Pictures. You can watch the trailer below.
Here’s the synopsis:
Emi, a schoolteacher, finds her reputation under threat after a personal sex tape is uploaded onto the internet. Forced to meet the parents demanding her dismissal, Emi refuses to surrender. BAD LUCK BANGING OR LOONY PORN is a film in three loosely connected parts: a walk in the city of Bucharest, then a playful essay on obscenities, all culminating, in the third part, in an incendiary comic confrontation.
