We have now seen a teaser and a trailer for the upcoming comedy film, “Barb & Star Go To Vista Del Mar,” and for the life of me, I really can’t tell you what it’s about. I mean, the short answer is obvious, the film stars Kristen Wiig and Annie Mumolo as the title characters who, uh, go to Vista Del Mar. But other than that, the film remains a mystery.

As seen in the newest trailer for ‘Barb & Star,’ despite not shedding much light on what the film is about, it does appear that the folks involved sure did have a lot of fun making the comedy. You have Wiig and Mumolo playing two seemingly Midwestern women of unknown age (are they 30 or 50? Who knows?) who love making hot dog soup (um, ok) and decide to go on vacation in a tropical paradise. Do they solve a murder? Are they trying to get their groove back? Are they lesbian lovers that need to escape the doldrums of their conservative, suburban existence and live their lives out in the open? Your guess is as good as mine.
Joining Wiig and Mumolo in the cast of the comedy are Jamie Dornan, Damon Wayans Jr., Fortune Feimster, Wendi McLendon-Covey, Rose Abdoo, Vanessa Bayer, Phyllis Smith, and Kwame Patterson. As mentioned, the two stars, Wiig and Mumolo co-wrote the script for the comedy together. Previously, they worked on the massive hit, “Bridesmaids.” But they don’t have Paul Feig behind the camera this time, as Josh Greenbaum is the man hired to direct the comedy.
