Irish actor Barry Keoghan has quickly become a rising star after appearing in “The Green Knight,” “Eternals,” and having a brief cameo as the newest incarnation of DC Comics villain The Joker in Matt Reeves‘ “The Batman.” The young actor isn’t slowing down as he’s reuniting with Colin Farrell for “The Banshees of Inisherin” from writer-director Martin McDonagh and has now dished two more projects on the horizon.
At the end of a recent interview with Irish podcast Mamia & Me (Listen below), Keoghan stated his next project would be with “Promising Young Woman” writer/director Emerald Fennell, who won the Best Original Screenplay Oscar back in 2021 for the stylish revenge flick starring Carey Mulligan.

“Yeah, I’m doing Emerald Fennell’s new film, she had done ‘Promising Young Woman’…she’s such a lovely person. That’s my next thing.”
Fennell had been recently hired to write a DC Comics film focused on Dark Justice League member “Zatanna” and was said to be also working on another comic book movie script with Mark Millar‘s “Nemesis.” However, with Keoghan neglecting to mention the title or details about the film, it’s unclear what the project actually is.
The actor also revealed that he’s making another film in Ireland with “House of The Dragon” star Paddy Considine.
While his cameo as Joker has fans speculating his future involvement in the spinoff shows at HBO Max such as Farrell’s Penguin series or a sequel to the feature film, it hasn’t been made official whether he’ll reprise the Batman baddie anytime soon.
“The Banshees of Inisherin” is set to be released on October 21, 2022.
